GREETINGS TO ALL,
Well, what a marvelous show. I may be a little biased
though, since it was our association that put it on.
The weather was fine. The goats were glorious. Great
fun was had by all.
We
had exhibitors from as far away as New Mexico and as
close as a mile down the road. We had huge 200#+ bucks
and one month old does that placed first in their
classes. We had an enthusiastic audience that spent
$374.00 on raffle tickets for a large variety of items
that included a cute fainting goat wether.
We
received $725 in ads and award sponsors. The entries
totaled almost $3000. Janene Jones, our very hard
working efficient show secretary, will have the number
of entries and the results on the website shortly.
Welcome to new members Joseph & Karen Kennedy, Willowisp
Acres, New Plymouth, Dan & Patsy Walrath, Big Red Boers,
Middleton, Toby Young, 2TD Boer Goats, Middleton, and
Sharon Melin, Matt and Lindsay Duman, Sand D Farm,
Grangeville.
I
would like to extend our appreciation to the Judges,
Fred Homeyer and Beverly Hadley. We learned from the
comments and critiques and it will help us in our
breeding programs in the future.
For
everyone who came and watched or participated, our
thanks for making this show a success. And for those
who couldn’t come, see you next year.
Our
next meeting will be May 17, 2008 at 1 pm at John and
Cheryl Sargent’s farm at 3625 NW 1st Avenue,
New Plymouth. For members coming on the freeway, take
Exit 3 off I-84 and go North on Hwy 95 approximately 1
mile and turn right (east) on NW 1st Avenue.
Go approximately 4 miles and their place is on the south
side of the road. Map Quest has a good map online. See
you there.
Thanks again to everyone,
